| We recognize that sophisticated
travelers are looking for deeper, more
meaningful purpose in their lives and in
many cases use adventure and
experiential travel as their outlet.
People are trying to move beyond
themselves, seeking to contribute
something greater than a stamp in their
passport, by contributing to causes with
more than just their wallet. At AMNH
Expeditions, we’re providing travelers
with unique opportunities to be part of
real expeditions with leading experts in
the field – from Everest to the North
Pole, from Cape Cod to the Colca Canyon
in Peru – and helping them become part
of authentic, research, exploration and
expeditionary efforts. We’re feel there
is an increase in demand with travelers’
who want to help fill in the blanks on
scientific questions, to address
critical social issues, and to deeply
engage with other cultures to learn in
real world environs – these purposeful
elements, we call a ‘nobility of
purpose’. The next wave for Summit
delegates to embrace and share with
today’s travelers is the chance make a
difference and empower a younger
generation whom in many cases is
alienated from the natural world by
showing them that they can make a
difference in the world by actively
participating in meaningful scientific
work . We are looking to restore the age
old values of civic duty , stewardship
to our planet and scientific discovery
while having a fantastic time. We call
this having a “nobility of purpose”. |

| Biography |
| As Explorer-in-Residence at the American Museum of Natural
History, Richard developed for AMNH Expeditions, the
museum’s educational travel program, a new series of
adventure trips, called the “AMNH Explorers Series”,
premiering in 2008. In 2002, he became the youngest
president in The Explorers Club’s hundred-year history.
Weise currently hosts a nationally syndicated television
show, Exploration with Richard Wiese, which can be viewed
in over 200 cities across the United States. As an
explorer, he’s traveled to all continents, tagged jaguars
in the Yucatan jungles, captured crocodiles and handled
venomous snakes in Australia, participated in medical
research on Mt. Everest, achieved the first ascent of an
unclimbed mountain in Alaska, discovered 29 new life forms
on Mt. Kilimanjaro, and skied to the North Pole. By
invitation of King Mohammad VI, Richard was the U.S.
representative to the Moussem de Tan Tan, a gathering of
45,000 nomadic Arabs in Morocco. More biographical
information on Richard is available at
